Welcome to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. We are proud to be a vibrant, caring community where every child is cherished as a unique gift from God. Our dedicated staff work in partnership with families and the parish to provide a nurturing environment where faith and learning grow together.
We aim to inspire every child to achieve their best, develop a love of learning, and live out Gospel values in all they do.
Sacred Heart is a Voluntary Aided Primary school within the Archdiocese of Liverpool serving the Parish of St. John Rigby. A majority of pupils live in the Atherton and Tyldesley area, within the Borough of Wigan.
As a smaller than average Primary school, Sacred Heart is like ‘a family’. Our pupils are happy, resilient, enthusiastic, caring, responsible, well behaved and creative, to name but a few qualities! We hope that you will take time to find out more about us on our website and social media page.

What a pleasure spending time here at Sacred Heart. Both the staff and children are very polite. The classrooms are a lovely learning environment – what a credit to the school. Well done to everyone, hope I get asked back soon.
